Fair enough. My original post doesn't fit with your replies, but was aimed at the article and the conventional wisdom found on sites like these. You are quite right, there is still real poverty in the USA. Are you talking about WV, where their chief source of income is under explicit attack from the last administration?
For most people, poverty is self-imposed; didn't get through school, turned to substance abuse and became unreliable or with a criminal record, won't move to find work elsewhere. And we all have our crosses to bear: ill health, family troubles, whatever. But crying about greedy rich people or trying to tax their money away does no one any good. To my original point: figure out how to become one of them!
Brother John, My comment was tongue in cheek; but I live in a real World, I live in and have worked for the US Census in impoverished West Virginia - the "misery-index" is extremely high there. No wonder, they pop opiod pills. Believe your Chamber -of-commerce "happy-hooey" talk all you want, but in a few years, we will have actual starvation in this country and Revolution will not be far behind.
You live in a dream world, don't you? Everybody is evil, you and your fellow poverty-stricken serfs are the only virtuous ones, and they all stole it from you.
Right! f you don't believe in billionaires making all of the new money and paying no taxes -become a billionaire yourself - you just need to get into a time machine and go back and pick richer parents.
Good catch! Many thanks.
Case in point*
OK, so you're worried about corporate control:1) buy some goddamn stock, already.2) a corporation still can't take a dollar from you without providing something in return. A government can just take it.3) Don't like cronyism? Stop electing politicians who are for sale and start following the Constitution instead.
I was paid 104000 dollars in last twelve months by working from my home and I was able to do it by working in my own time for 3 or sometimes more hours /day. I used a business model I stumbled upon online and I am so happy that i was able to make so much extra income. It's so newbie friendly and I'm just so grateful that i discovered this.
