Most importantly, not you or anyone else knows when or how those “end days” you speak of will take place. That transition could have already taken place or may not take place for another thousand years. Anyone who claims otherwise must be a false prophet.

If you actually read chapter 24 of Matthew, the lesson is that there are going to be many people who pretend to know that the end is near (all those false prophets you apparently put all your stock in) but do NOT believe them. Verse 6 in plain English that you might understand states that there will inevitably be people who will talk about wars and rumors of war but that does NOT mean the end is near (“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is NOT yet”). Verse 6 does NOT state that war is right or inevitable but rather that people talking about it is inevitable. Don’t you actually read the book you say you are ruled by? Lord, help you!!!!

The “fundamentalist” sisters have been engaging in what is commonly called “projection”. Over time, they may or may not gain the introspection, experience and knowledge necessary to accept and take responsibility for what they are doing. For now, since they are stuck in their wheels of “projection”, there is no possibility of a logical or rational discussion with these two. I agree that things happen for a reason. Our differences have to do with defining those “reasons”,...and exploring and trying to understand why humanity continues to face atrocity and suffering. There is no “perfect” in our common struggle.
While I avoid criticizing anyone’s faith in God (and have NOT done so in this forum, noting that only two certain individuals have done so as I review all “comments” posted), I refuse to put any of our (humanity’s) mistakes, including my own, on God’s back.
I believe God gave every human being the power of “free will”,...to create the world we live in. I have great faith in God’s decision to give us that power which is neither easy or free. I accept that it is a burdensome power; one that can never be taken away in any circumstances yet can be given away in all situations.
I am very saddened that there are those who have given up on their power to even imagine a world without war or famine or oppression; who have either adopted other’s definition of a forever grim “reality” or become so resigned and cynical that they choose (to exercise their God-given “free will”) against reaching for a more tolerant and loving existence.
I confess that I am no one. However, I will never exercise that one God-given power I have, “free will”, to give up on the potential of humanity to create a better world,...because to do so, in my mind and heart and spirit, would mean giving that God-given gift to me of “free will” over to the devil of decay and destruction.
No, I will not take that power for granted or give it away. I embrace that power given to me. I will take a stand for the power of “free will” given not only to me but also awarded to all humanity,...to shape our existence into a peaceful, brilliant, vibrant and loving phenomenon until the day I die.

To be a good world citizen you do not need to be christian, I respect the 10 commendments even if I am not christian, can you understand what I say? I do not think I have the truth in my pocket, I just think that wars lead to nowhere. and that people supportiing war - which mean supporting death - are not good people, that there are better ways of solving problems than “killing” the problem. That dialogue and goodwill are the keys, that arrogance and bullism (which US is showing to the world in this period) are the things to be fighted against, but not with wars, just with dialogue and goodwill.

My husband’s National Guard unit is being deployed to Iraq. I protested this war before it began. There was never a threat to the US from WMD, and where is proof of a connection to WTC terrorists? This is an unjust, illegal war, and my husband is about to be ripped from our family, for at least a year, and be placed in danger, for what?? I served 4 years active duty army, and 10 years national guard, I would fight to defend my country, but this war is not about defending the US, it is about money, arrogance, and greed!!! Bush is a dangerous, destructive, arrogant idiot.

How is it that we can install a democracy in Iraq and we don’t even have one right here in the U.S. of A? All we have ever had is a democratic republic that is turning very much into a corporate plutocracy (e.g. a government controlled by corporations for the benefit of corporations).
Moreover, since we established our own “independence” (maybe not from corporate or plutocratic tyranny but certainly from another form of government), how is it that we refuse to believe others can do the same? I just believe that this war is about an elitist group of power-mongers (that would be those oil-diggers and arms dealers which compose this administration) who seek to expand both their power and their wealth on the backs of our soldiers, our people and the people of Iraq. All that “war on terror” stuff is just a load of crap when you look at it from our own short history (of a mere couple centuries) where we lost more of our own citizens to one another (that would be during the Civil War) than any of our other so-called freedom-fighting ventures.
I sincerely hope matters stabilize in Iraq. But when I think of how OUR citizens would react to an occupation by a foreign country that has a historical record of exacerbating conflict and reaping the riches (as we do),...well,...I know what we would do. We would be doing whatever possible to get that occupying force the hell out of our country!!!

We can hold Bush responsible for an unlawful war since is he and his administration that declared the d_amned thing. My husband is a Vitenam Vet ( 2 tours) and is in the GA National guard. He has been federally activated since March 2003. He does not support the “military action” in Iraq but will get in trouble if he states so to his unit. If a Vietnam Vet who saw true combat and knows how devastating it can be cannot support this war, how can we? What an eye-opener for this “part-time” military wife - we can send $85 million to a country who has oil wells busting at the seams and who does not want us in there country, yet we cannot adequately care for our military or thier families. I cannot, in good conscience, support Bush or his war of terror - not just terror towards a country we conquered but terror towards the brave men and women and their families who bravely serve an inept, self-serving president who cares only how he looks. If Bush truly cared about the military, perhaps he would have taken the $85 billion US taxpayer dollars headed for Iraq and used it to provide decent medical coverage for our military and their families. My husband cannot even get routine medical treatment! Most of us live on poverty level with military pay and for those of us who do not, the services “provided” are horrendous. Perhaps we need to stay home and center in on what counts the most - the people in the US 0f A.

America is being lied to by our president, and his staff of CEO"s I have watched day after day, and listened to the voices of those in charge of the country, saying the loss of lives over their are insignificant. Since when is an American life insignificant, and why are they saying America is making progress in the war when every day we hear or see several of our troops dying in the streets of a so called peaceful place. If it keeps going like it is America will loose thousands over the next several months, will that be significant enough to understand that those people aren’t welcoming us with open arms? They know what the oil industry has planned for them.
Our wonderful President and his cabinet are lying about the situation over there, if he weren’t then he like all other presidents of the United States would be attending the funerals, and homecommings of our American troops. He doesn’t visit the hospitals of the sick and wounded. I have often wondered why, and came to this conclusion, he doesn’t have the guts to look those kids in the eye, after he has lied about this war. He is in the oil business, and so are members of his administration. When an administration uses a war to make a profit, they are corrupt. He lies continuosly, and you can tell by facial features, and mannerisms. He puckers his lips when lying and looks upward, not to God but to think about how to lie. Watch him. He doesn’t pin medals on the soldiers recieving them, why? He is the commander in chief, and yet he is more intrested in the God Damn Companies over there, than our troops. Whoever works for them gets 25000.00 to sign on, and over one hundred thousand in three months to work there. Has anyone seen any job wanted signs for this job? I’ll bet it isn’t advertised at the unemployment agencies either. Our country is being run to death by the oil industry, who could care less about the losss of life, they care only about profit. We need to bring the military home to protect us from the treason going on at home,the American business men, who find it better to destroy the jobs at home, and take them over seas, to such places as China, North Korea, Israel, Mexico, just to name a few. Without jobs the economy dries up, and so does our freedom. We are not a militaristic state, run by chaos. We are a republic of free thinking Americans who need to be heard. I lost my son in Iraq. He had just turned 19. He was my only son. His father had just been killed approx. 2 1/2 years prior.
I need to know what is being done at this time to try and help our soldiers that are still losing their lives for all the wrong reasons in Iraq.
I know I cannot bring my son back but as each day goes by and after seeing Clarke on 60 minutes there is now no doubt this war was wrong.
I have been in shock after losing my son and now saying something needs to be done. Please tell me what I can do.
After reading the above story: I have had some military people try to tell me that I would be going against the military if I made comments about this war that was negative. Well guess what: I see through them now. I want to help.

My comments consist of bringing our troops home for sure. We have lost more troops since the so called ending of the war than when we ewere officially at war. Even though our troops are trying to be brave, they are being torn down because they are exhausted, illness and other numerous things. They were sent over there for all the wrong reasons. I hate Saddam Hussein, but what has ever been proved tthat he had anything to do with 9/11, instead the man that even the tapes that they played over the air so we Americans could see and hear what bin laden is and was up to and bragging out it. Why are we still not going after the real culprit. We tore down Baghdad and we tore down one of the riches and most powerful and meanest men in the world. so what are they going to do about him now that they got him. What are they going to do about binladen with him still hiding out and about somewhere over there. I think now that the city of Tikrit has been mamed and the leader has been captured that is where he is hiding, thinking that we got what we came for, so now, they have no reason to keep searching the premises. Why have we stopped concentrating on getting bin laden. Our Homeland Security System is a big joke, they continously cut the military and their operating budget, they are always cutting our men in blue throughout our cities, underpaying them and cutting back because of lack of funding, I would call that a whole ot of mismangement of funds and lack of priorities. We need to bring our guys home, and the ones that they are bringing home, will be sent back in two weeks, back to the same horrid surroundings that they have been having to live with for the last year. the President gets up there and makes his speeches and is always saying that inspite of everything that is going on, the troops morale is high. Do you believe that for a second. Some of the men that they have brought home on a temporary leave, some of them have already gone AWOl so they don’t have to go back and some have committed suicide. Our government is doing us and our troops wrong so very wrong.

very good story and analysis of the war and the Bush adminsitration i spent 6 yrs in the U.S.M.C in the late 80’‘s and early 90’s i don’t believe we should leave our troops over there any longer this president is a failure and people just don’t see it i feel the are brainwashed by the president and his republican partners who believe we are making a difference over there when we are really not.

Hi I am a Army wife with children facing are third tour in iraq .Now I know my husbands job and respect him for it .BUT when americans are crying out for the war to stop and instead they extend from 12 months to 15 it is like a slap in the face. I feel it was a power play buy the government to say no matter what the americans wont we will do what we wont. For the most part the navy and other branches do 6 month’s but the army must put in 12-15 months. Something about that dose not sit well with me .Now please do not get my comment wrong I respect all branches and there families for giving all that they do .I just don’t understand why the army families must sacrifice so much time. I have a three year old and five year old who barely know there dad. And we will not even get into what it has done to my husband. The point of this letter today was to say we the people have to demand the government listen to are voice. What we are showing the world is that are democratic society dose not work. The people do not have a voice just a bunch of complaints !!!! Thank You

Most importantly, not you or anyone else knows when or how those “end days” you speak of will take place. If you actually read chapter 24 of Matthew, the lesson is that there are going to be many people who pretend to know that the end is near (all those false prophets you apparently put all your stock in) but do NOT believe them. Verse 6 in plain English that you might understand states that there will inevitably be people who will talk about wars and rumors of war but that does NOT mean the end is near (“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is NOT yet”). Verse 6 does NOT state that war is right or inevitable but rather that people talking about it is inevitable. Don’t you actually read the book you say you are ruled by? Lord, help you!!!!
fabio, I completely agree that the rule of law is what must be respected,...and this administration has not only broken many, but makes them up as they go along. They make the rules but failing to play by those rules. Is it any wonder this country is so fragmented and the world so torn by the actions of such arrogant and foolish leaders. The “fundamentalist” sisters have been engaging in what is commonly called “projection”. Over time, they may or may not gain the introspection, experience and knowledge necessary to accept and take responsibility for what they are doing. I agree that things happen for a reason. Our differences have to do with defining those “reasons”,...and exploring and trying to understand why humanity continues to face atrocity and suffering. There is no “perfect” in our common struggle.
While I avoid criticizing anyone’s faith in God (and have NOT done so in this forum, noting that only two certain individuals have done so as I review all “comments” posted), I refuse to put any of our (humanity’s) mistakes, including my own, on God’s back.
I believe God gave every human being the power of “free will”,...to create the world we live in. I have great faith in God’s decision to give us that power which is neither easy or free. I accept that it is a burdensome power; one that can never be taken away in any circumstances yet can be given away in all situations.
I am very saddened that there are those who have given up on their power to even imagine a world without war or famine or oppression; who have either adopted other’s definition of a forever grim “reality” or become so resigned and cynical that they choose (to exercise their God-given “free will”) against reaching for a more tolerant and loving existence.
I confess that I am no one. However, I will never exercise that one God-given power I have, “free will”, to give up on the potential of humanity to create a better world,...because to do so, in my mind and heart and spirit, would mean giving that God-given gift to me of “free will” over to the devil of decay and destruction.

My husband’s National Guard unit is being deployed to Iraq. I protested this war before it began. There was never a threat to the US from WMD, and where is proof of a connection to WTC terrorists? This is an unjust, illegal war, and my husband is about to be ripped from our family, for at least a year, and be placed in danger, for what?? I served 4 years active duty army, and 10 years national guard, I would fight to defend my country, but this war is not about defending the US, it is about money, arrogance, and greed!!! Bush is a dangerous, destructive, arrogant idiot.
How is it that we can install a democracy in Iraq and we don’t even have one right here in the U.S. of A? All we have ever had is a democratic republic that is turning very much into a corporate plutocracy (e.g. a government controlled by corporations for the benefit of corporations).
Moreover, since we established our own “independence” (maybe not from corporate or plutocratic tyranny but certainly from another form of government), how is it that we refuse to believe others can do the same? I just believe that this war is about an elitist group of power-mongers (that would be those oil-diggers and arms dealers which compose this administration) who seek to expand both their power and their wealth on the backs of our soldiers, our people and the people of Iraq. All that “war on terror” stuff is just a load of crap when you look at it from our own short history (of a mere couple centuries) where we lost more of our own citizens to one another (that would be during the Civil War) than any of our other so-called freedom-fighting ventures.
I sincerely hope matters stabilize in Iraq. But when I think of how OUR citizens would react to an occupation by a foreign country that has a historical record of exacerbating conflict and reaping the riches (as we do),...well,...I know what we would do. We would be doing whatever possible to get that occupying force the hell out of our country!!!

My husband is a Vitenam Vet ( 2 tours) and is in the GA National guard. He has been federally activated since March 2003. He does not support the “military action” in Iraq but will get in trouble if he states so to his unit. If a Vietnam Vet who saw true combat and knows how devastating it can be cannot support this war, how can we? What an eye-opener for this “part-time” military wife - we can send $85 million to a country who has oil wells busting at the seams and who does not want us in there country, yet we cannot adequately care for our military or thier families. I cannot, in good conscience, support Bush or his war of terror - not just terror towards a country we conquered but terror towards the brave men and women and their families who bravely serve an inept, self-serving president who cares only how he looks. If Bush truly cared about the military, perhaps he would have taken the $85 billion US taxpayer dollars headed for Iraq and used it to provide decent medical coverage for our military and their families. My husband cannot even get routine medical treatment! Most of us live on poverty level with military pay and for those of us who do not, the services “provided” are horrendous. America is being lied to by our president, and his staff of CEO"s I have watched day after day, and listened to the voices of those in charge of the country, saying the loss of lives over their are insignificant. I lost my son in Iraq. He had just turned 19. He was my only son. His father had just been killed approx. 2 1/2 years prior.
I need to know what is being done at this time to try and help our soldiers that are still losing their lives for all the wrong reasons in Iraq.
I know I cannot bring my son back but as each day goes by and after seeing Clarke on 60 minutes there is now no doubt this war was wrong.

Even though our troops are trying to be brave, they are being torn down because they are exhausted, illness and other numerous things. They were sent over there for all the wrong reasons. I hate Saddam Hussein, but what has ever been proved tthat he had anything to do with 9/11, instead the man that even the tapes that they played over the air so we Americans could see and hear what bin laden is and was up to and bragging out it. Why are we still not going after the real culprit. We tore down Baghdad and we tore down one of the riches and most powerful and meanest men in the world. so what are they going to do about him now that they got him. What are they going to do about binladen with him still hiding out and about somewhere over there. I think now that the city of Tikrit has been mamed and the leader has been captured that is where he is hiding, thinking that we got what we came for, so now, they have no reason to keep searching the premises. Why have we stopped concentrating on getting bin laden. Our Homeland Security System is a big joke, they continously cut the military and their operating budget, they are always cutting our men in blue throughout our cities, underpaying them and cutting back because of lack of funding, I would call that a whole ot of mismangement of funds and lack of priorities. We need to bring our guys home, and the ones that they are bringing home, will be sent back in two weeks, back to the same horrid surroundings that they have been having to live with for the last year. the President gets up there and makes his speeches and is always saying that inspite of everything that is going on, the troops morale is high. Do you believe that for a second. Some of the men that they have brought home on a temporary leave, some of them have already gone AWOl so they don’t have to go back and some have committed suicide. Our government is doing us and our troops wrong so very wrong.

Hi I am a Army wife with children facing are third tour in iraq .Now I know my husbands job and respect him for it .BUT when americans are crying out for the war to stop and instead they extend from 12 months to 15 it is like a slap in the face. I feel it was a power play buy the government to say no matter what the americans wont we will do what we wont. For the most part the navy and other branches do 6 month’s but the army must put in 12-15 months. Something about that dose not sit well with me .Now please do not get my comment wrong I respect all branches and there families for giving all that they do .I just don’t understand why the army families must sacrifice so much time. I have a three year old and five year old who barely know there dad. And we will not even get into what it has done to my husband. The point of this letter today was to say we the people have to demand the government listen to are voice. What we are showing the world is that are democratic society dose not work.
