Whole Foods CEO Continues Quest to Turn Liberals into Libertarians

Now that Whole Foods CEO John Mackey has upped the stakes this week and branded Obamacare as fascist” (rather than socialist,” his 2009 word-of-choice), his next task is to convince Whole Foods’ left-leaning clientele of the merits of free-market capitalism. What’s his game plan? His new book Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business is on shelves now along with a 20-stop book tour through April 17. In this CBS interview, Mackey addresses his bad choice of words” by explaining that, actually, fascism” is a choice word — as long as you forget its association with dictatorships.”
