I am not saying that we should not organize a militant working-class movement. What I am saying is that in today's political climate, we need political allies. And recent studies show that as many as 20% or more of these younger, educated workers are contingent workers themselves. They might be deluded into thinking that unions aren't for them. In response to James, while in surveys Americans are "supportive" of labor. In reality, what are they ready to do to actually support labor. The public's support is a passive support. What is needed is an actual, physical support. There is a fine line between a worker-led movement with wider public support and a movement of workers led by non-workers.
