Development Internship

The Development Intern supports the work of the In These Times’ development and publishing teams. This is an opportunity for an intern to gain first-hand experience with donor relationship management including prospecting, event planning, stewardship, and other donor outreach activities. The development intern will report to the In These Times Development Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination, publicity, and production of events and fundraising

• Conduct prospective sponsor and foundation research

• Assist with promotions and mailings

• Donor database management (we use eTapestry)

• Prepare donor acknowledgment letters for mailing

• Schedule and coordinate volunteers for development-related tasks

• Plan and attend ITT events including issue release parties and fundraisers

• Participate in other development-related activities as needed

• Exceptional interpersonal skills

• Ability to independently manage projects

• Experience with event planning and fundraising

• General understanding of nonprofit development and administration
