I’m amazed at the interview with Mayor Nagin. I’ve
never heard an elected official be so honestly angry, desperate, and sad. Mayor Giuliani rose to his
occasion, but I think that the surprise of the attacks
on N.Y.C. and the Pentagon were more immediately shocking to the public. We should have seen the N.O. tragedy coming - we apparently had years more public warning and lost opportunities than with 9/11.
Mayor Ray Nagin’s blunt, unvarnished honesty eclipsed everything I’ve heard from an elected official in years. Dump Bush. Ray Nagin for president!

Yeah, cause Ray did such a good job following the evacuation plan. School buses were mobilized, the superdome was stocked and policed, and he even had the foresight to order the evacuation days ahead of the hurricane. Oh, wait, he did not do ANY of that. His bad.
