Citizens for Ethics files FOIAs to find other “Armstrongers”

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) announced today that they have filed FOIAs with 23 federal agencies requesting contracts with public relations firms.

CREW's actions are in response to reports "that conservative journalist and pundit Armstrong Williams received $240,000 from the Department of Education (DOE) through a contract with Ketchum Public Relations..." to support the No Child Left Behind Act through his radio shows, television appearances and columns.

CREW filed FOIAs with:
Department of Agriculture, Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, Department of Education, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of the Interior, Department of Justice, Department of Justice, Department of Labor, Department of State, Department of Transportation, Department of the Treasury, Department of Veterans Affairs, Drug Enforcement Agency, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Food and Drug Administration, Securities and Exchange Commission and the Social Security Administration.
