A page from the “too weird” file
As though conservatives in Congress and our administration weren't already too far into the red end of the "faith-based" kookiness meter, the, um, revelation that cultist wingnut Rev. Sun Myung Moon was "coronated" in the Dirksen Senate Office Building in March has set off ear-splitting alarms.
The good Reverend, known for presiding over mass weddings and funding the nakedly conservative Washington Times, is quoted as calling homosexuals "dung-eating dogs," and claiming that he channels the newly-reformed Hitler and Stalin, who declare him "none other than humanity's Savior, Messiah, Returning Lord and True Parent."
The story broke briefly on the Washington Post Web site, but really hit its stride in a piece on The Gadflyer, a notable new progressive online magazine. Check it out!
