1) "The fucking most ridiculous thing I've ever heard": Perhaps the best gem (uttered by a close friend of McCain, w/r/t the Sarah Palin pick) from Jane Mayer's New Yorker piece on Palin, although there's a lot more to treasure in there as well, including the fact that one of Palin's biggest initial boosters was Dick Morris (one hopes she wasn't wearing open-toed sandals when they first met), and that one of Palin's strongest qualifications for office is that she apparently says a really kick-ass grace before meals.
