Ilan Stavans is Lewis-Sebring Professor of humanities, Latin American and Latino culture at Amherst College. He is the prize-winning author of numerous books, including On Borrowed Words: A Memoir of Language. Professor Stavans is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and Latino Literature Prize. He is a regular contributor to National Public Radio and hosts NEPR’s podcast “In Contrast.” He is also publisher of Restless Books.
