Alexis Wray is a reporting fellow at The 19th. She has covered HBCUs and Blackness for over four years, first as a freelance journalist for Scalawag, The Appalachian Voice and The Atlanta Voice and then as a reporter for Reckon. She lives in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina.
Alexis is an alum of North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelor’s in journalism and mass communications and a Master of Science in communication and journalism innovation from Syracuse University.
