CATHY OTTEN is the author of With Ash On Their Faces: Yezidi Women and the Islamic State. She is also Visiting Assistant Professor of Media Ethics and Journalism at Rutgers University, where she runs the Journalism Initiative on Gender, Peace, and Security.
