Angela Caputo joined The Chicago Reporter staff to cover housing and criminal justice issues in 2010. Before joining the Reporter, Caputo worked at Progress Illinois, a political news blog, where she was a recipient of the Studs Terkel Award in 2010. Prior to Progress Illinois, she worked for the Sun-Times News Group producing award-winning investigative pieces for the Daily Southtown and Lerner Newspapers. She is the recipient of the Salute to Excellence Award by the National Association of Black Journalists and Peter Lisagor awards for Best In-depth and Best Education reporting. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2004 with a master’s degree in journalism.
