Jon Shel­ton is an assis­tant pro­fes­sor in the Depart­ment of Democ­ra­cy and Jus­tice Stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Wis­con­sin-Green Bay. He has writ­ten for Dis­sent and Truthout, and is at work on a book on the rela­tion­ship between urban teacher strikes, labor pol­i­tics and Amer­i­can cul­ture enti­tled Against the Pub­lic’: Teacher Strikes and the Decline of Labor-Lib­er­al­ism, 1968 – 1981.
