Jon Shelton is an assistant professor in the Department of Democracy and Justice Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He has written for Dissent and Truthout, and is at work on a book on the relationship between urban teacher strikes, labor politics and American culture entitled ‘Against the Public’: Teacher Strikes and the Decline of Labor-Liberalism, 1968-1981.
