Millions Stage Europe’s First General Strike

A protester is arrested in Madrid during the Europe-wide Nov. 14 general strike against austerity measures. The protests, coordinated by unions, shut down Spain's public transit.

Millions of workers in Spain, Portugal, Belgium, France, Italy and Greece went on strike today in a coordinated protest against austerity measures.
