Now folks…behave on those bicycles

Phoebe Connelly

Last night the NYPD sent a gentle reminder to bicyclists at the RNC: "It is not out desire to summons or arrest your members," Chief Scagnelli said in a letter to Transportation Alternatives Executive Director Paul S. White. "Therefore, we request Transportation Alternatives, a wonderful organization that has the same lawful desires as the Police Department, to notify its members of this situation, so that those who wish to continue to ride with "critical mass" will obey all traffic, administrative and penal laws, and will understand that if laws are broken, violators will be summonsed or arrested."
