Obama's best hope of defusing any impression voters might have that Sarah Palin is a maverick and a reformer is to pin her to this man as often as possible. Also, it wouldn't hurt to mention something like this: "The choice of Sarah Palin, being the VP candidate of choice for Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, and James Dobson, proves that John McCain is controlled by the exact same people who surround George W. Bush."
Or, considering she is intended to distract, just keep ignore her and continue pinning McCain to Bush. That's possible only if Obama is forceful enough to change the subject.
