On February 14, 1986, the Maryland State Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings on legislation (proposed by a Democrat) to include music recordings in the legal definition of pornography, which would make the recorded music and associated material subject to criminal prosecution. (YouTube has become quite the blogger resource for fond recollection.)
