Aw, Golly, Ain’t That Sweet

Brian Zick

The WSJ's Washington Wire reports that for hearings in the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, "Democrats and Republicans won’t sit on opposite sides of the dais but rather, next to each other — alternating Democrat, Republican, Democrat, Republican etc." According to a joint statement from Not-Democrat chairman Joe Lieberman and ranking GOP member Susan Collins, the new arrangement has been made so that "instead of sitting on opposite sides of the room like a house divided, we want the American people to see us sitting side by side as our committee members work together." This is what qualifies as "thoughtful" by the Washington DC bubble people. via Taegan Goddard
