“EEM-boo-beh” not “wimoweh”

Brian Zick

This story in the NY Times, In the Jungle, the Unjust Jungle, a Small Victory, is pretty interesting simply because of the subject - about the song most everyone on the planet knows and can hum from memory. But it also struck me as fairly noteworthy that the story received placement at the top of the Times' first page, complete with a photo.

The text is from the poem “QUADRENNIAL” by Golden, reprinted with permission. It was first published in the Poetry Project. Inside front cover photo by Golden.
