FEC and the internet

Brian Zick

The FEC earlier today issued its unanimous ruling, that "recognizes the Internet as a unique and evolving mode of mass communication and political speech that is distinct from other media in a manner that warrants a restrained regulatory approach." Adam B at dailykos, who has been intimately involved with the matter since the potential for things becoming completely screwed up arose about a year ago, has an account: FEC: The Netroots Win Halliburton can blog just like everyone else. Of course, that means it would confront something it has rarely had to contend with otherwise, during the Bush years: competition. Because everyone else can blog too.
