GOP factionalism

Brian Zick

Dan Balz and Jonathan Weisman at the WaPo report on GOP electoral angst. --- It is worth noting the GOP struggles, for the sheer entertainment value. And it even may be useful as a means to learn how to drive wedges between their various conflicted constituencies. But the Democrats can't afford to be mere spectators and point out Republican deficiencies. I mean, the Dems can stand back and cross their fingers, wishing that the GOP will implode all on its own. But hope ain't a plan. They need to vigorously promote positive solutions, across a spectrum of issues, and in particular they must address Iraq. Dems need to give the public a reason to vote FOR them. Otherwise, if the citizenry simply doesn't like what the GOP has done, and people think that the Dems have no answer either, the potential plainly exists for them simply to throw up their hands and stay at home.
