Haditha: The Iraq War’s My Lai?

Brian Zick

Tim McGirk for Time Magazine has a lengthy and detailed account of the appalling incident at Haditha, Iraq, where last November U.S. Marines "killed innocent civilians in cold blood," according to Congressman John Murtha. Jim Miklaszewski and Mike Viqueira for NBC News, and Christian Lowe for the Marine TImes have also reported on the story. Crooks and Liars has video of Murtha discussing the story on Hardball, where he said the story was worse than Time reported. Matthews asked "Was this My Lai,?" and Murtha replied "That's excatly it." via SusanG at dailykos. Wikipedia's account of My Lai is here.
