John Kerry, Leading the Charge Against Bush’s Record, Setting the Terms of Debate for 2008

Brian Zick

Dan Balz in WaPo reports on John Kerry's blistering criticisms of the Bush administration. [T]he man who lost the 2004 presidential campaign left little doubt that if he runs again in 2008, he intends to be the chief prosecutor of the record of the Bush presidency. While duly noting that a recent survey of presidential preferences in New Hampshire places Kerry a distinct underdog, Balz describes a candidate who displays optimism, genuine leadership (Kerry has been way ahead of other potential Democratic candidates on withdrawing US forces from Iraq), political aggressiveness (of the sort for which the left blogosphere has long been clamoring), and who has considerable hard experience under his belt.
