Letter As Image/Image As Letter Show Goes to New York

Last April, Harold's Gallery at InsyncMedia in Los Angeles hosted the Letter as Image/Image as Letter exhibit - showcasing a half dozen of the most creative and influential lettering design artists of the last 25 years. The show has moved to New York, and can be seen January 3 - 27, 2007, at the at the Society of Illustrators' Museum of American Illustration. Michael Doret Louise Fili Gerard Huerta Tom Nikosey Daniel Pelavin Tom White The show has its own official website now, featuring a whole buncha samples by all the artists, as well as biographical info on each one. The LA show was extraordinary, and judging by the samples at the LetterAsImage website, a lot of new work will be included in the New York exhibition. The Society of Illustrators is located at 128 East 63rd Street, New York, NY 10021. The opening and artists' reception is Thursday, January 4, 5:30 until 8:00 pm. In conjunction, "Presentations and Discussion with the Artists" will be held in Wollman Auditorium at the Cooper Union on Tuesday, January 9, 7:30 pm. Cooper Union is located at 51 Astor Place, New York, NY 10003.
