Author, activist, and The Nation columnist Naomi Klein is here at the COP15 in Copenhagen, interviewing powerful players within the negotiations, and I've been videotaping and recording her interviews for www.TheUptake.org; Yesterday she spoke to Nnimmo Bassey, the Nigerian-born chair of Friends of the Earth International, who says that we shouldn't give Obama and world leaders more time — to use a soccer metaphor, we're already in "sudden death" overtime. This morning she interviewed Bernaditas Muller, a native of the Philippines and a lead climate negotiator for the G77 nations (who may already be getting screwed by the rich, industrial nations here in Copenhagen). Right now she's talking to Kumi Naidoo, Greenpeace's new executive director and a veteran of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa.
In addition, here's a segment from an interview I did yesterday with Naomi about what we should realistically expect from this summit, and why "Hopenhagen" is such an empty word.
