On the Eighth Day of Fitzmas: Part 2

Brian Zick

There may not be enough popcorn in the world. First there's this: Fitz says Libby destroyed Cheney memo update correction: David Corn writes that "the MSNBC story was wrong. There was no destruction of any memo. Fitz just said that Libby concoted a cover story to "wipe out" the fact that Cheney had been the one who told him Valerie Wilson worked at CPD in CIA." Followed by Scooter's declaration of war against Bush/Rove: “They’re trying to set me up. They want me to be the sacrificial lamb,” Wells said, recalling the alleged conversation between Libby and Cheney. “I will not be sacrificed so Karl Rove can be protected.” (So much for pardon speculation.) And then there's this: Digby reports: Norah O'Donnell is asking Andy Card and Leon Panetta if the president is going to have to ask Dick Cheney to resign as a result of what's being alleged at the Libby Trial. (They both punted.) And tonight Bush is gonna ask the public to trust him in his war escalation decision. With Pelosi and Cheney sitting behind him, both of 'em breathing down his neck.
