What to ask Petraeus?

Adam Doster

Once every Friedman Unit, Gen. Petraeus has to answer some questions on the Hill. The last go-round featured plenty of softballs and posturing from our legislators, so David Corn asked some national security experts what they'd like to ask the General if given the chance. It's worth a full read, but I particularly like Juan Cole's sole question. General Petraeus, you have done what you can do militarily. It’s unclear that more can be done on that front, and yet there is still a fair amount of violence. The question is, what now? This is not facetious.

In this new book, longtime organizers and movement educators Mariame Kaba and Kelly Hayes examine the political lessons of the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath, including the convergence of mass protest and mass formations of mutual aid. Let This Radicalize You answers the urgent question: What fuels and sustains activism and organizing when it feels like our worlds are collapsing?
