Matthew Barakat in WaPo reports that Rice Allegedly Leaked Defense Info to a pro-Israel lobbyist in the same manner that landed a lower-level Pentagon official a 12-year prison sentence.
Now see, here we have another allegation against a highly placed government official. However, this time it is quite specific. Evidence of a particular impropriety exists or it does not. The accused can refute it. Or cannot. And the accuser can provide corroboration. Or cannot. On the basis of specific testimony and evidence provided, a determination of innocence or guilt of a particular crime may be judged.
In this instance, the accuser - Defense Attorney Abbe Lowell - is an officer of the court, who is subject to all manner of sanctions for any act of misrepresentation. Because of his position, by default in making the charge, he is already at legal risk for any falsity.
