On January 16, In These Times will co-sponsor Get Your Voice Back, a Chicago-based event on "taking back politics, media and the future of American democracy." Joe Trippi, manager of Howard Dean's presidential campaign and author of The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, will deliver the keynote speech. Other panelists include: Cindi Canary, Illinois Campaign for Political Reform Dan Johnson-Weinberger, Center for Midwest Democracy Dara Greenwald, Pink Bloque Shawn Campbell, 88.7 WLUW-FM Organized by Media Democracy Chicago, and co-sponsored by independent radio station WLUW and the Civic Responsibility and Engagement Committee (CREC) at Columbia College, this free event will take place from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Conaway Center, Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash, Chicago.

Jessica Clark is a writer, editor and researcher, with more than 15 years of experience spanning commercial, educational, independent and public media production. Currently she is the Research Director for American University’s Center for Social Media. She also writes a monthly column for PBS’ MediaShift on new directions in public media. She is the author, with Tracy Van Slyke, of Beyond the Echo Chamber: Reshaping Politics Through Networked Progressive Media (2010, New Press).
