Scenes from #OccupyWallStreet: Friday Afternoon

Lindsay Beyerstein

As I approached Zuccotti Park on Friday afternoon, I could see that the Occupy Wall Street crowd had grown substantially since my first visit, four days earlier. The plaza was packed. The longer I stayed, the more people arrived. I eventually joined the overflow crowd across the street by the FINRA building.

Some things that have changed since Monday: More union t-shirts and flare (but no visible institutional union presence), a few demonstrators wearing pieces of tape identifying themselves as security,” and more matching signs.
