Scenes from #OccupyWallStreet: Labor March

Thousands of union members swelled the ranks of Occupy Wall Street on Wednesday. Protesters marched from occupied Zuccotti Park to Foley Square for a rally with nurses, teachers, transport workers, property services workers, and other union members. After the rally, the crowd marched back to Zuccotti Park.

Protesters called for help for the middle class, justice for corporate criminals, and “jobs not cuts.” The most popular chant was “Banks got bailed out, we got sold out!”

The march itself was orderly and peaceful. I followed the crowd from Zuccotti Park to Foley Square and back again. I left as the march was breaking up.

The New York Times is reporting that eight protesters were arrested at Wall and Broadway around 8:00 and several others were arrested at State and Bridge at 9:30.
